Professor Winsor is an Animal-Assisted Intervention Specialist, as well as a Research Coordinator and Data Specialist, designing, implementing and evaluating programs in AAI. Her animal assisted intervention programs are designed to augment the existing therapies received by students (occupational, physical, and speech therapy).

Her devotion to the well-being of both people and animals is apparent from her lifelong learning, including certificates in Dog Emotion; Cognition from Duke University and in Animal Assisted Therapy from the University of New Hampshire, as well as her prior professional experience at the North Shore Animal League and Canine Companions for Independence.

Professor Winsor remains active in research, attending conferences, serving on committees, and publishing her work. In addition to her work in animal assisted interventions, Professor Winsor has also worked as a marine biologist, marine mammal trainer, and wildlife rehabilitator.
