Let’s Meet Marjory!

I am a Reiki Master and do Reiki therapy and Holistic healing for animals. Holistic medicine views the animal as a whole being and is both individualized and non-invasive. Reiki, or healing touch, activates the natural healing process of the animal.

Where do you live and work?

I own my company, On The Edge Feline Training in Ewing, NJ, where I provide behavior modification as well as Reiki. A lot of my behavior modification involves solving conflicts in multiple cat homes. Multiple cats can give rise to many behavioral issues regarding elimination, aggression, and so on. Previously, I was given the opportunity to work with the big cats at the Popcorn Park Zoo in Forked River, NJ to provide an enrichment plan. I am also a part-time dental assistant.

How did you benefit from your ABI experience?

The Animal Behavior Institute has great teachers that have given rise to great friendships! I still communicate with former student colleagues as well. There were great class discussions; the projects, coursework and case studies gave me a great start on behavioral management and modification. Everyone at ABI is great; staff and faculty truly care about you. I really enjoyed the Health and Nutrition course, especially since I work from the inside out and provide diet advice to change some behaviors.

How did you complete your field requirement?

At a local rescue group. Rescue groups and shelters provide excellent opportunities for students to gain valuable experience while helping animals and providing a service to their communities.

Would you recommend ABI?

Yes! I was very happy with my education at the Animal Behavior Institute and would gladly recommend them.
